Thanks for visiting Ocean Wings! My name is Herb Cabral and I started my company with one Piper Aztec twin engine aircraft more than 15 years ago. I started flying Hang Gliders in the late 70s and got my license to fly airplanes in 1986. I have 15 years experience flying the busy New York Corridor and I have spent 4 winters in Nevis and Puerto Rico flying there. I was based (and still am) in Nantucket, Massachusetts where I grew up, and now operate out of New Bedford and Marthas Vineyard Mass. Five years ago I moved to Clearwater. With the purchase of a King Air last year and a Cessna 402C this summer, Ocean Wings has arrived in Clearwater and glad to be starting a business here. With a total of 6 planes in my fleet, (3 402’s, 1 Cessna 414, a Piper Seneca and a King Air 100) I am looking forward to serving both the business community and the vacationer alike.
If there is one question on everyones mind for a new company in the flying business, (new here anyway) its safety. Well safety if our ultimate concern. We fly these planes too! (for the last 15 years) The best route to safety is two fold: the pilots flying the planes and the maintenance that each aircraft receives. My Chief Pilot, James Heer, has an air force background and has been with Ocean Wings for 4 years. He and I fly all of our aircraft, we attend yearly training at the nationally recognized training facility SimCom in Orlando. Two other pilots that currently are engaged by us have 2 to 3 years with Ocean Wings and thousands of hours of flight time. Our Director of Maintenance is Mr. john Steidinger. His award winning facility has been in business for 35 years. Our local facility in Tampa works with him and our aircraft don’t leave the shop until the work gets done, checked and rechecked! Honest.
We work closely with the FAA. Our Certificate # is IVHA927S. The credo of this company as it relates to our customers Service Service Service. It is redundant but its our survival too. Only happy customers come back! Have a question, call me. I am never too busy to answer your questions.
My cell phone # is 508-367-2747.
